The Uttar Police busted a conversion racket in Uttar Pradesh and arrested the mastermind Sayeed Nizam. Nizam confessed to converting more than a dozen Hindu girls and looting about 25 lakh rupees.

Nizam used fake Hindu names to ensure his entry in Hindu houses and promised that he would solve their personal problems.

Sayyed Nizam is a resident of Jagatpur in Bareilly district and was arrested from the Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh.

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has passed a law to check illegal deceitful conversion in the state.

Nizam also confessed to sexually exploiting the young girls and filming the act to blackmail them later.

The police have identified other accused as Salim Mafuridi, Syed Rajab and Aalok. Further investigation is underway to unearth the activities of the syndicate.

Earlier, one Mohammed Omar Gautam was arrested by the UP ATS last month from Delhi’s Jamia Nagar for running a conversion racket and targeting differently-abled for conversion.

The Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party Monday (July 5) defended Mohammed Omar Gautam.

Abu Asim Azmi, senior Samajwadi Party leader and an MLA in Maharashtra, told TV9 Bharatvarsh, “Our party’s stand is Mohammed Omar Gautam is innocent. He has been wrongly accused by the UP Police in the case of conversion.”

He also added that more Muslims will be wrongly accused in the next six months.

Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party MLA and Delhi Waqf Board Chairman Amanatullah Khan had defended Muhammed Omar Gautam arguing conversion is allowed in the Constitution.

Muhammed Omar, with his associates, was running Islamic Da’wah Centre in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar and had converted more than 1000 people.

His team was specifically targeting differently-abled adults and people from the weaker sections of the society. The UP ATS revealed he was getting money from many foreign sources, including Pakistan’s ISI.

The central and state agencies are investigating Islamic Da’wah Centre and its funding.
