Love and Compassion towards beings
Love and compassionate towards all the beings is common both in Thirukkural and Hindu Dharma.
Thirukkural verses
Let us take some examples from thirukkural.
“Paguthuṇdu palluyir ōmpudhal nūlōr
tokutthavatṟuḷ ellān talai.” (Adhikaram-Kollamai)
Meaning of this kural
The chief of all (the virtues) which authors have summed up, is the partaking of food that has been shared with others, and the preservation of the mainfold life of other creatures.
Let us see another one
Avisorindhu āyiram vēṭṭaliṉ oṉṟaṉ
uyirsekutthuṇṇāmai naṉṟu.(Adhikaram-Pulal marutthal)
Meaning of this kural
Not to kill eat (the flesh) of the animal, is better than pouring forth of ghees etc., in thousand sacrifices.
Verse from Vedha
Rig vedha tells
“Mitrasya ma chakshusha sarvani Bhuthani samikshantham,Mithrasyaham Sakshusha sarvani bhoothani sameekshe, Mithrasya Chakshusha sameekshamahe”
Meaning of the Verse
“I look at every creation of this world with friendliness. I look at every resource in nature with friendliness. Let everyone in this world look at me with friendliness. Let every thing in this world see the other as it is.”
We can see that love and compassion is common in both Thirukural and Hindu Dharma.
