One hears incessantly about the rising crimes taking place almost every other day, in the state of Tamilnadu. We hear and read about students committing suicides, harassment of students especially girl students and women students, cases of Love Jihad and Forcible Conversions. Inspite of many TV channels and certain media including print media being under the direct or indirect control of the present DMK regime, independent news channels and social media have brought to light, the many objectionable happenings in Tamilnadu. Every day, we hear about cases of harassment of girl students in schools and colleges. The situation was not this perturbing under Dr.J. Jayalalithaa, the only woman Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu so far.All hell appears to have broken loose in Tamil Nadu with respect to the crimes in Tamil Nadu, more so in the last ten months. Tamil Nadu faced a similar kind of unprecedented rise in crimes between 2006 and 2011 under M.Karunanidhi.
Girl students’ suicide deaths have become common place in the present-day regime in Tamil Nadu. There are many girl students, who are being blackmailed every day. There are tens of thousands of cases of harassment of women and children in present day Tamil Nadu. An example is the recent suicide case of Ms. Indhu Priya, a girl student of Puliyangudi Manonmaniyan Sundaranar University of Thenkasi district in TamilNadu.Indhu Priya was afirst year B. Com student of the University.She committed suicide after writing a suicide letter seeking justice. Apparently, she had been harassed by two college professors. Such cases of harassment of students are on the rise.
Just as there are Internal Complaint Committees to look into cases of sexual harassment in educational institutions, there should be ICCs instituted by the government to look into cases of harassment of students within educational institutions. There should be learned and eminent members of the public who should be on the panel of Internal Complaints Committees in educational institutions and Vishaka committees in work places. All acts of crimes against children including students must be probed quickly and justice must be delivered by Fast Track courts. All acts of cruelty against children including students must be dealt with an iron hand and justice must be delivered quickly. Harassment against students especially girl students is atrocious and unforgivable by any moral standards. These cases of harassment of students within the school premises must be dealt with by instituting committees as has been mentioned before. The Committee should constitute at least two women, who are well known public figures working in the areas of women and children development.
The Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission should register Suo moto case with respect to cases of Love Jihad and Forcible Religious Conversions where human rights are grossly violated. Recently, a plus two (12th standard) woman student from Uppathukadu near Thammampatti village, Salem, Tamil Nadu consumed pesticide on the 18th of January 2022 as a result of alleged Love Jihad by Amir Khan, son of Rahamuthulla, local Jamaat leader in Salem. Amir Khan was alleged to have been in contact with many other girl friends on social media.
Students committing suicide has become a kind of norm and by the way, these suicides are not because of exam stress or unknown personal reasons but because of Love Jihad. They are not simple cases of Love Failure asthis plus two (12th standard) woman student’s case from Uppathukadu near Thimmampatti village, Salem, Tamilnadu who consumed pesticide on the 18th of January 2022 as a result of alleged Love Jihad by Amir Khan, son of Rahamuthulla, local Jamaat leader in Salem has proved.
A tragic case, which recently happened has thrown light upon the evil system of Love Jihad.The incident happened in Thumbaipatti near Melur in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu. The unfortunate victim in this heart-breaking case is Yogalakshmi, a 17-year-old woman student. A 29-year-old man named Nagore Hanifa from Pallivaasal(Pallivaasal means mosque in Tamil) street had lured Yogalakshmi into a romantic relationship with him.Yogalakshmi disappeared from her home on the 14th of February, 2022. The parents of the girl lodged a complaint at the Melur All Women Police station on the 15th of February, 2022.
The parents also submitted a complaint to the District Superintendent of Police on the 27th of February 2022. The girl was found unconscious and in an intoxicated state in front of her home on the 3rd of March 2022 after being thrown in front of her home from an autorickshaw allegedly by members of the Nagore Family. The girl was rushed to a hospital at Melur but her family members were told to take Yogalakshmi to the Rajaji Government Hospital at Madurai, where the girl was in a critical condition for a few days and died. On a superficial level, it may appear as a case of a failed love story but the reality goes beyond that. It is the story of a poor girl being trapped in a love affair with a Muslim man, who was cruel to the girl. The Police suspect a case of Gang rape after drugs being injected into the 17-year-old minor girl. The minor girl has been gang raped for days together.The police have taken into custody Nagore Hanifa, his accomplices – Raja Mohammad, Sahul Hameed, Perumal Krishnan and Prakash. Nagore Hanifa’s mom, Madina Begum, his aunt Ramzan Begum and father Sultan Alaudin have been arrested and are being interrogated.Instead of putting all efforts to arrest the true culprits of the Yogalakshmi case, the media controlled by DMK is hell bent on only arresting BJP/HINDU groups, who are exposing the perils of LOVE JIHAD. The love Jihad cases are very strange because we always find that there is an attempt to only convert the members of the Majority Religion Community of India – the Hindus; be it the partner boy or girl in a romantic relationship.
The people of Thumbaipatti village near Melur in the Madurai district of Tamil Nadu deserve justice, which they are seeking on behalf of the daughter of their village, Yogalakshmi! What is shocking is that those, who are protesting seeking justice for Yogalakshmi were arrested.
Let us not forget the dreadful Omalur Suganya case, which also happened in the previous DMK rule. Suganya was studying in the residential Fatima High School at Omalur, Salem District in TamilNadu. Suganya was a poor dalit woman student. She suddenly disappeared in November 2006 and her body was found in a well in the school premises post which there were investigations by the police. In Dec 2006, the DSP of the Police Department concluded after investigation?? in front of the Madras High Court that it was suicide. Suganya went missing on the 16th of November 2006. She was found dead in a well within her school premises on the 18th of November 2006. On the 8th of December, 2006, the police informed the Madras High Court that the death of Suganya, the Dalit student of Fathima Girls Higher Secondary School at Omalur in Salem district was a case of suicide.
This was stated in the counter affidavit filed by the DSP of Salem to the petition of Tamilnadu Catholic Educational Association seeking the appointment of a Commission of Inquiry headed by a retired judge of the High Court to probe the death of the girl student. The DSP further stated that the same was communicated by the school management, which said that the student committed suicide after securing less marks. The DGP had ordered a CB-CID probe and the Mettur RDO was also holding an inquiry.
Preliminary investigations had shown that the Headmistress, Chemistry Teacher and the Hostel warden had abused the girl in an indecent way for having scored low marks following which the girl committed suicide.
Butthe CB-CID investigation revealed that the girl had been raped. The case must be reopened again due to popular public demand. Suganya must be given justice. All the perpetrators of the heinous crime at Omalur, Salem district must receive the maximum punishment as per Indian Laws.
It is shocking to note that no one has been imprisoned so far in the Suganya caseof Omalur, Salem, Tamil Nadu.
In other words, Hindus who support their fellow Hindu student sisters like Lavanya/Suganya/Yogalakshmi/ Indhu Priya are all condemned and threatened by the DMK government in Tamil Nadu. It is pertinent to recall the remand of 32 ABVP students including four women students who were arrested for protesting – seeking justice for their fellow student sister, who happened to be a Hindu – M. LAVANYA!
- Lavanya had committed suicide in January 2022 in Tanjore because of the coercion by her Christian school authorities to convert to Christianity.
The brutal truth is thatthere is no safety for girls/women/ children/Hindus/Students in Tamil Naduunder DMK regime as has been amply proved by Omalur Suganya Case, Indhu Priya Case, YogaLakshmi and Lavanya cases.
In other words, there is no safety for the religious majority Hindus. There is no safety for the girls in Tamil Nadu. There is no safety for women in Tamil Nadu. There is no safety for children in Tamil Nadu. There is no safety for students in Tamil Nadu.
Even with respect to what happened to Lavanyain Tamilnadu in January 2022, which made the entire nation look at Tamil Nadu as the emerging hub of forced religious conversions – it is not to be forgotten that Lavanya’s case is NOT JUST A CASE OF FORCED RELIGIOUS CONVERSION BUT A STUDENT AND A WOMAN BEING HARASSED and pushed to the extent of suicide.
In a way, the issue of religious conversions and human rights clash. If a person is forced to convert to another religion either because of coercion or enticements, it is definitely a case of infringement of Human Rights. Forcing a person to convert into a new religion is also a crime.
It is extremely shocking to note that Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu, which had 80% Hindu population in 1956 has only 48% Hindus now. How is it even possible! Love Jihad and Love Cross are some of the methodsused by the members of the minority communities to convert the majority religion members through marriage/romance relationships. Then slowly, the entire family of the spouse belonging to the majority religion is converted. India has had a painful history of forced and forcible religious conversions under Islamic invaders and rulers as also under the Christian British Imperialists. It is important to note how large parts of North-east India converted to Christianity under the menacing powers of the Christian missionaries.
THUS, WE MUST UNDERSTAND THAT THE ISSUE OF WOMEN’S SAFETY, MISUSE OF THE RIGHT OF RELIGIOUS PROPOGATION, SAFTETY OF CHILDREN INCLUDING STUDENTS ARE ALL RELATED ISSUES AND UNDER THREAT UNDER THE PRESENT DMK REGIME IN TAMIL NADU.
