Incidents like attack on governor’s convoy and a litigant in the temple of court, soaring sexual assaults on women and children are clear indication where the peace loving state is marching under the so-called Dravidian model rule.
The state assembly has become a place for singing paens on the CM Stalin and his son by DMK and its allie’sas well opposition AIADMK joins the sycophancy chorus. It is a daily affair during the session of assembly. It is also a place to criticize the Governor in a bad manner, personalized attacks on questioning his actions and listing out expenses of Raj Bhavan. They say States need governors which is a drain on exchequer. DMK’s mouth piece Murasoli came out with highly damaging articles, editorials on Governor on a personal basis.
On April 14, the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government boycotted events organized by Governor R N Ravi to protest against the alleged delay on his part in clearing several cabinet recommendations and a dozen Bills passed by the state Assembly. it included abolition of NEET for medical admissions, and the release of the convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.
In what’s likely to open a new front amid escalating tensions between Governor R N Ravi and the DMK-led state government, the TN Assembly on 25thpassed two Bills empowering the government to appoint Vice-Chancellors (V-Cs) to 13 sRN RAVIate universities. BJP and its allies say this is facilitate accommodate party supporters on a quid pro basis, citing earlier appointees of DMK and AIADMK, embroiled in corruption cases.
On 19th TN Governor R N Ravi was on his way to attend a function organized by Dharmapuam Adheenam, a Saivaite mutt in Mannampandal. Orchestrated by DMK, its allies Dravidiar Kazhagam, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, left and others gathered holding black flags, placards. When the convoy was nearing, they threw iron flag poles, projectiles, stones and water bottles. They shouted slogans against him for not forwarding the anti-NEET bill to President passed for the second time by the State assembly. (DMK has been vigorously pushing for this one particular issue). Luckily, the governor escaped unhurt but vehicles in his convoy have been hit in the attack. It is a murderous attack if the video shots are to be believed. BJP state chief K Annamalai tweeted that Stalin government had failed miserably in maintaining law and order. He said DMK government has created a situation where the governor’s security has been directly compromised and allowed people right next to the convoy. Annamalai said it was trying all the tricks of trade to make the governor feel threatened.
Now, on 25th April Rangarajan Narasimahan, litigant who is fighting against HR and CE’s mal administration, violation of rules, was chased by two persons in lawyer’s robe from the entrance of the Trichy metropolitan magistrate court hall. He was, allegedly, attacked also. He ran into the Chief justice hall and explained what had happened and sought asylum besides police protection to go home. He apologized for barging into his hall while he was hearing a case. He was threatened not to appear. He was asked to give written complaint. He appears in person for all his cases without engaging lawyers.
In Tamil Nadu even constitutional head and litigant are not safe leave alone the plight of public. Is it a prelude to implement autonomous self-rule state agenda?
