Chennai : 15 organizations including PETA have filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of permission for jallikattu competition.

Jallikattu competitions held in Avaniyapuram, Palamedu, Alankanallur, Madurai on the occasion of Tamil Thirunalam Pongal are world famous. Also Jallikattu competition will be held in various districts of Tamil Nadu on the occasion of Pongal festival.

In this situation, 15 organizations including Beta have filed a petition in the Supreme Court to cancel the permission for the jallikattu competition. As a result, a consultation is being held today under the leadership of Chief Minister M. K. Stalin at the Chief Secretariat in Chennai. It is reported that many important decisions may be taken in this meeting.
