Chennai. The Tamil Nadu police have been banning the marches of the RSS organization for one reason or another, including security reasons. As a result, the Madras High Court granted permission to the RSS organization to hold marches inside the perimeter wall in 44 places except 6 places including Coimbatore, Palladam and Nagercoil.
Against this order appeals were filed on behalf of the R. S.S organization. When these petitions came up for hearing on the 22nd of last month in a session consisting of Justice Mahadevan and Sathya Narayana Prasad, the Madras High Court ordered the Tamil Nadu government and the police to respond. In this case, the case came up for hearing again yesterday.
At that time it was informed by the RSS that they have applied for permission to hold the march on the 29th. After this, the police again blocked the application by pointing out the case in the court as not appropriate. So, does the police department follow the same approach to all rallies? The judges questioned.
The judges ordered the Tamil Nadu government and the police to respond by the 19th after the police asked for time to file a detailed reply in this regard. Later, the trial was adjourned to the 20th.
