Rajendran worked as an inspector in the Traffic Investigation Division, Puliantoppu, Chennai. An audio of him making a controversial comment about religions was circulated on social media. The traffic police officials inquired about this. Then Inspector Rajendran was ordered to be suspended.
In the audio, Rajendran is said to be speaking to Christopher, “Christopher, the song you recorded in the WhatsApp group is not the right song. Listen to all the Christian songs, Christopher. They will shout ‘Aallelujah’.
And then lame will rise and walk. The dead will come back to life. It’s all wrong. I am so quiet that I should not speak. This is India. We have built a temple at the birth place of Rama. They will perform puja in the temple.
Let’s keep a scepter in Parliament. Stop by if you can. If not then go to Pakistan and Saudi. This is very wrong. Rama Rajya will happen. “Christopher don’t put this kind of song, if you put it like that they will fake Christianity…I will put it too,” the audio ends. After this audio went viral, Inspector Rajendran has been suspended.
In a press release issued by the Chennai Police Commissioner’s Office regarding the matter, “Police Inspector Rajendran of the Pulianthop Traffic Investigation Division had posted religious comments in audio on his friends’ WhatsApp group a few days ago.
