The Swadeshi Jagaran Manch organised a national three-day discussion called “Arth Chintan-2021” from September 23 to 25, in which experts from various fields deliberated on various aspects of Bharatiya economics.
Addressing the participants, the Sah-sarkaryavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Shri CR Mukunda said Bharat can emerge as an economic power and for this we have to rouse the will power of society. He stressed the need for instilling the spirit of innovation and determination. “We have to change the attitude towards prosperity and for this we have to inculcate the spirit of “worship of prosperity” in the society. Poverty cannot sustain any society for long. Poverty comes from wastage of time and energy. Population is not the problem. If there are as many stomachs, then there are twice as many hands,” he added.
According to the Sah-sarkaryavah, Bharat has to make prosperity a mantra. However, he said we should ensure that prosperity is achieved through Dharma. He said prosperity can be achieved through various sectors such as agriculture, trade, industry and service sector. “We have talented and skilled work force and we can turn the tide in favour of us. Take small communities together for this. We should not make the mistake of treating wealth transfer as wealth creation. Wealth transfers like stock market volatility, tax avoidance, brokerage, sensational speculation, etc., are being considered as wealth creation in the world. It is not possible to stop technology. India has the most youth power with the best minds in the world, so the skills to take advantage of it have to be developed,” he added.
Dr Dhanpat Ram Agarwal, National Co-convener of the Manch, while explaining the importance of the day of September 25, said that Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, the pioneer of “Ekatma Manav Darshan”, was born on this day. He believed that the system of capitalism and communism, was based on centralisation of power and resources. This situation cannot go on, so as an alternative, he suggested a way keeping the society ahead. He said that “Government is for society” and not society for the Government. With detailed statistics, he expressed confidence that India has the potential to become a $27 trillion economy in the next 15 years.
The National Organiser of the Manch, Shri Kashmiri Lal mentioned several stages of Manch’s journey spanning 30 years. He said it is the result of the Manch’s public awareness campaign on boycott of Chinese goods that the trade deficit with China, which used to be $64 billion in the year 2016, has come down to $44 billion today. He motivated the youth to read Swadeshi literature of the Manch. “We have to fulfil the dream of freedom fighters by taking this discussion to the villages on the occasion of AmritMahotsav of freedom. This freedom is incomplete without economic freedom,” he added.
Swami Kodasideshwarji of Siddhagiri Peeth, Kaneri Math,emphasised the need of taking this campaign forward by empowering small communities spread across the country. He expressed concern over the villages becoming empty due to lack of education, medical facilities and employment.
The facility of free distribution of ration to all by the Government may make people lazy. So the focus should be to make people self-reliant by providing job opportunities. The centralisation ofthe economy has destroyed the villages. Referring to the efforts of Kaneri Math to empower the village, he said in just three years, the number of cows in Kolhapur district has increased by threelakhs, 2000 women got employment. Kaneri Math buys vegetables produced by villagers. Moreover 235 teachers are appointed on behalf of the Math in the schools.
The chief organiser of the event Prof Bhagwati Prakash Sharma presented the summary of the discussion which lasted for three days. The national convener of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch Shri R Sundaram, while appreciating everyone’s contribution in this discussion that lasted for three days, said the discussion will help us in determining the future direction of the country. The karykartas of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch will take this discussion to villages. “African countries and countries like Taiwan have progressed on the strength of their resolve. India has a vast network of youth power, many research institutes, startups, universities, agricultural land, abundance of natural resources, small scale industries etc. India will also move forward on the strength of its resolve. India will definitely achieve its goal of 10 trillion dollar economy by 2030 while protecting the environment, poverty-free India and unemployment-free India,” he added.
Earlier, Union Ministers Shri Nitin Gadkari, Shri Bhupendra Yadav, Niti-Aayog Vice-President Rajiv Kumar and experts including Mohandas Pai spoke on various aspects of economy.
