Chennai: Former Chief Minister Panneerselvam has condemned the DMK government for disrupting law and order in Tamil Nadu to the extent of making bombs.

Since the DMK came to power, the situation has changed from one or two murders every day to eight to 10 murders in Tamil Nadu. Lately, petrol bomb culture, violent culture is rampant.

Yesterday, a car exploded near Kottai Eswaran Temple in Kottaimade, Coimbatore, killing one person. While the cause was said to be a gas cylinder, there were reports that the occupant of the car was under police surveillance.

There are reports that the deceased person was earlier interrogated by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and explosives, potassium nitrate, aluminum pellets, charcoal etc. were seized from his house.

If the DGP is investigating in person, there is something behind it. This is reminiscent of the 1998 blast incident during DMK rule.

The deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu needs no better example than this. On behalf of the ADMK, I strongly condemn the DMK government, which is degrading law and order.

The Tamil Nadu Police Department has the responsibility and duty to root out terrorism.

The Chief Minister should immediately pay special attention to the law and order problem and take creative measures to save the people of Tamil Nadu from the violent men.

Thus he said.
