Thanjavur: 20 people from Japan performed a special yaga to spread the virtues of Tamil language at the Vasishteswarar temple in Thittai near Thanjavur.

20 people including 8 women under the leadership of Balakumbamuni known as Thaka Eihi from Japan performed a special yaga called `Rudra Yagam’ yesterday in order to promote the Tamil language and spread the Tamil language in the temple known as Guru Sthalam. The Yaga was conducted under the leadership of the temple Sivacharya Swaminathan.

After the Yagya, they took the vessels containing the holy water in a procession into the temple playing the mangala instrument and offered special abhishekam and archana to the Lord.
