Trichy june 12 : Three schools are functioning in Nagamangalam area on Trichy-Madurai National Highway namely St. Susaiyappar High School, Thuya  Mariannai  Primary School and Jericho Physically Handicapped School. In 2022, the Madurai branch of the Madras High Court had ordered the removal of buildings with water bodies, claiming that the school had been built encroaching on water bodies.

Yesterday (Sunday) the school was sealed by the district administration as the school administration did not take action despite the court order, but today, on the occasion of the opening of the school for the students of class 6 to 12, the students who came to the school waited in front of the school gate in disappointment.

Officials including Principal Education Officer Sivakumar, District Education Officer Chandrasekhar inspected the building and stated that the building is not stable, there is no toilet facility, drinking water facility and hence the school is not allowed to operate here.
